Single-screen console
The single-screen console Integrates Nautis simulation software with a single screen and hardware console set-up to offer additional realism to the training experience. For some special-task trainers, like ECDIS, radar, ARPA, and AIS, a basic console with two navigation panels and one outside view screen is suitable.
The console has an integrated horizontal touch screen, used for button panels. It also has an integrated trackball, a double engine control (telegraph), and a steering wheel. The navigation screens and the touch panel are standard 19” PC LCD monitors. The outside view screen can be a LCD-TV of a size between 40" and 65". The configuration is drive by just one PC, with an image splitter device, to accommodate all 4 screens. The PC can be located inside the console. The outside view display needs a stand, and is placed such that the centre point of the display is at the eye level of the trainee. If the trainee looks straight ahead, he should see the horizon. Like with the basic desktop configuration, the instructor can allow the trainee to switch to the outside viewpoint behind the vessel.
