VSTEP expands its professional maritime simulation team
VSTEP is pleased to announce the addition of Jaap Steenbergen to the company. Jaap joins VSTEP’s Ship Simulator Professional team on October 1, 2009 in the position of Maritime Simulation Engineer. In this position, he will be reporting directly to CEO Cristijn Sarvaas.
Before joining VSTEP, Jaap was SHE-Q (Safety Health Environment and Quality) officer by SMIT Marine Projects B.V. in Rotterdam, a sub-division of SMIT International N.V., where he advised the management regarding all (project related) Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality matters including maintenance of the ISO9001 and OHSAS18001 management systems.
With over seven years of experience within the field, Jaap brings a wealth of experience as former deck officer on chemical tankers of Stolt-Nielsen, implementation and testing of a newly developed ECDIS/SVDR system as well as the development of supporting software. Furthermore Jaap has experience with marine & safety services and investigation of on board incidents.
